Blue Herringbone Ferla Jacket

“Our company specialises in creating fancy fabrics, which is why our winter variants are produced using bouclé or frisé yarns. For example, the Ferla jacket in both warp and weft contains yarns made from virgin alpaca wool and double-twisted high-twist cotton fibre.

The bouclé yarn is made up of three elements; the main yarn, the effect yarn and the binding yarn, necessary to hold the loops. This binding yarn is not visible to the naked eye in the fabric. It is manufactured from an extremely fine polyamide fibre, which does not affect the grip or appearance of the fabric in any way, but only plays a technical role in the fabric.

This type of yarn is considerably more expensive than typical linear yarns (in our case, bouclé yarns are produced in melange, allowing for richer colour combinations) while at the same time allowing us to develop unusual and exceptional quality fabrics. We must mention that the use of polyamide fibre is in no way linked to cost cutting or the choice of a cheaper raw material. As a producer of one of the most valuable fibres in the world, such a treatment would not make sense for us, if only for our image and the perceived value of our Baby Alpaca fabrics.
