Tailor-made – MTM method

Tailor-made sewing method made to measure It was developed with the customer in mind, allowing for complete customization of orders to their individual measurements and preferences. This technique combines elements of both custom-made garments and mass-produced ready-to-wear garments. This means the waiting time for a garment is shorter than the standard six months. We offer an extensive selection of materials and numerous garment details. Thanks to our wide selection, we are confident that every customer will find a satisfying combination.

Tailoring – techniques

Tailoring using the technique made to measure in the case of jackets, it is most often based on one of two methods. We are talking about techniques half-canvas and full-canvas .

Half-canvas

Technique half-canvas appreciated by customers seeking the highest quality custom-made suits. Thanks to this, the jacket not only fits the client's body better, but is also more comfortable, more durable, and has a natural appearance.

Semi-traditional construction – half-canvas – involves filling the chest area with a maximum of four layers of canvas . The most common three-piece system consists of a lining, an outer material (fabric) and canvas , i.e. the middle layer. The lower part of the jacket is stiffened with interlining. This construction adds lightness to the suit and allows it to properly adjust to the curves of your body around the chest .

Full-canvas

A suit made using the method full-canvas This is undoubtedly a long-term investment that will provide a sense of elegance, comfort, and exceptional product durability. canvas ensures that your jacket retains its natural shape and the highest quality.

Filling the jacket entirely with canvas is a characteristic feature of the traditional method Full-canvas is an exclusive custom-tailoring technique currently performed only by a select few craftsmen or tailors . It achieves an even greater level of fit than the half-canvas method.

Due to the product's ability to adapt to the customer's body movements and its exceptional durability, making a jacket using this method is more labor-intensive and, naturally, more expensive than using previous techniques. Choosing this option for your suit requires a correspondingly higher surcharge, which, however, will undoubtedly impact the final quality of the garment.

Jacket - finishing

Full lining, half lining and no lining are the three standard options for finishing the interior of a made-to-measure jacket.

The first option works best for jackets intended for formal events. The second and third variants are recommended for less formal jackets or those intended for spring and summer events.

If you decide to take advantage of Herse's offer and choose a jacket with a lining, you can rest assured of its quality – it's made of breathable material. We use cupro, a type of fabric more refined than viscose, made from cellulose.

Choosing the right suit cut – tailoring

Shirts, jackets, trousers, vests, and tuxedos—all of these can be found in our brand's offerings. These products are inspired by traditional Italian and British tailoring.

To choose the right jacket cut for your figure and preferences, you need to be aware of the differences between the different types of components . Custom tailoring offers a wide range of pocket options. You can choose classic flap pockets, cutaway pockets, patch pockets, or pockets with an additional ticket pocket.

Another important element is the breast pocket. As a standard option, we offer a breast pocket with a slightly arched cut, which originates from Neapolitan tailoring.

When creating a suit bottom, you'll need to choose the waist height, the front finish, and, as with a jacket, the type of pockets. Trousers will most often have one or two pleats, but they can also be absent altogether. The waistband will also be your choice – you can choose between belt loops or side adjusters.

If you decide to sew a waistcoat, you'll have to choose between single- and double-breasted models. Lapels or no lapels – this also applies to You will be helped by our qualified advisors who will be happy to guide you through the entire tailoring process .

After reviewing our offer, you will see that choosing from a dozen or so types of finishes with different widths and unique stylistic details will not be easy.
